Sometimes, when you are in the midst of a battle, you can’t tell up from down or right from left. You just know that something isn't right. The confusion can become so overwhelming that you start to have thoughts you never imagined you would.

For me, "this" was Domestic Violence. At the time, I couldn’t even name it, but that didn’t lessen the soul-crushing enormity of the situation. Slowly, through many God-appointed moments, I began to see the reality of what I was facing: plain and simple abuse. And my God was not in favor of it at all!

As I searched for ways to improve my situation, God began to place a deep calling in my heart to help women like myself navigate this tricky and cruel prison.

While I was investigating ways to leave and looking for help, I realized that my options were very limited. However, help did come, and I was able to escape.

The calling God had given me to help women did not fade away. Through many profound moments, I took the steps to fulfill what God was asking me to do. When God tells you to do something, you must act on it.

So I walk in faith, knowing that God is in full control. The birth of Her Exit became a reality. Let’s journey together and see what God can accomplish when we work together to build His Kingdom here on earth.
